CHATHAM -- State police departments honored their most courageous Friday. It was the ISP's 37th annual awards ceremony. 92 sworn officers and civilian workers were recognized for their professionalism and bravery.

Trooper Brian Scott, of Tolono, was among them. He earned the Medal for Honor for his actions during March's snowstorm. Scott helped save the life of a man who was hit by a car and pinned underneath it.

Trooper Scott and some witnesses lifted the vehicle off the victim. During the accident, Trooper Scott also treated the man's injuries on scene before the ambulance arrived.
