Armed robber hits KFC

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) -- Police are looking for an armed robbery suspect. It happened about 4:25 pm, Friday, October 6, at Kentucky Fried Chicken, on North Ninth Street.

A man walked in, implied he had a gun under his sweatshirt and demanded money. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The entire robbery took less than two minutes and customers in the business at the time didn't even know an armed robbery was taking place.

The suspect is described as a man, light-skinned black, early-to-mid 20's, 5'9", short afro-style hair with light facial goatee. He was wearing a brown-and-cream-striped hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
