Armed robbery suspect arrested

BLOOMINGTON -- Police arrested a man in connection with two armed robberies. 43-year old Joseph Rogers was taken into custody Wednesday night.

He's being held on a $200,000 bond for armed robberies committed Tuesday and Wednesday at Freedom Oil and Huck's Gas Station on Main Street.

BLOOMINGTON -- Police are looking for help identifying the suspect in several armed robberies. They happened October 1 & 2.

The first was Tuesday, at Freedom Oil, in the 1400-block of South Main about 9:20 pm. The suspect demanded cash after showing a weapon. He fled the scene in an older, white Dodge Caravan.

The second hold-up happened about 4:30 am, at Huck's Gas Station, in the 2400-block of South Main. The suspect asked for cigarettes from the cashier and when the clerk turned back around, the suspect was holding a weapon and demanded cash. He also fled in an older, white Dodge Caravan.

The suspect is a black man. In the first robbery a description was given placing him at 35 - 45 years old with a heavy build. He was wearing a dark blue, striped shirt and jeans.

The suspect in the second robbery was described as 30 - 40 years, 6', 235 lbs. He was wearing a dark shirt and a black cap with a white, oval-shaped logo.
