A Chicago man is recovering in the hospital from injuries he sustained while fleeing federal authorities. 40-year old Alexander Munos suffered a broken leg and pelvis after jumping out a third story window when U.S. Marshals tried to arrest him.
Munos faces charges in DeWitt County for the April armed robbery of $750,000 in jewelry taken at gunpoint from a courier who stopped at a Wapella gas station. Three other Hispanic men are being sought in connection to the crime.
29-year old Vanessa Ortiz was arrested shortly after the hold up. She's charged with obstructing justice and is believed to have been the getaway driver.
