GREENUP -- One of the men accused of setting 20 homes on fire in Cumberland County will learn his punishment next week. Levi Barnes and Paul McCormick were each charged with multiple counts of arson.

Barnes was a firefighter in the village. He took a plea deal in September. This month, he's back in court.

Investigators say he'd been setting fires around town for more than a year. Crew members from his own department put them out. Most of the homes were vacant at the time and no one was ever hurt. A state fire investigator says Barnes confessed to the crimes while he was being questioned after his arrest.

Barnes had a sentencing hearing last week. On Monday, he'll find out how long he has to stay behind bars.
