Article releases surprising jaywalking stats

CHAMPAIGN -- A recent investigation reveals some surprising statistics about jaywalking. Vivelohoy, a Chicago-based news agency, researched the report and found there is a big difference between the number of arrests of black people.

A FOIA request found that between 2007 - 2011, 88% of jaywalking arrests were African-Americans. In Urbana, it was 91%.

We tried to reach both police chiefs for comment but they were unavailable.
