Authorities investigate rash of property damage

HUMBOLDT -- A string of vandalism is being investigated. It happened in different areas of town.

Three dozen cases of property damage were reported over the weekend. One of the reports came from the Humboldt Treatment and Learning Center.

Deputies believe a pellet gun caused the damage. It left holes in the windows of the school and many people disappointed. Several car windows were also damaged. Authorities are still investigating.

COLES COUNTY -- Authorities are investigating a string of vandalism. It happened sometime between Saturday night and early Monday morning in different areas of Humboldt.

Three dozen reports of property damage were filed. Deputies believe a pellet gun was used. Several car windows were broken and there was damage to the town's Treatment Learning Center.

Police are still searching for those responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
