CHAMPAIGN -- Parkland automotive students got a couple of shiny new toys to take apart. The brand new cars were donated by O'Brien Volkswagen in Urbana. It's part of a bigger program giving Passats to colleges around the country.

The goal is to give students more opportunities for hands-on learning. It's something that's very important in their line of work.

You may wonder why college students need new cars to work with. Dealers say future technicians need to learn about the latest technology. That way, they'll be ready to take care of those cutting-edge cars when they get a job.
