DANVILLE -- Kids can get a leg up on school supplies Saturday. The local Salvation Army is handing out backpacks full of them from 9 am - 12 pm. They'll have supplies for kids in kindergarten through high school.

One lieutenant says it's all about giving the kids a head start for the year. Parents who attend are asked to bring their ID's and social security cards for children in the household.
