SULLIVAN -- People in Moultrie County are trying to raise money to help a murder victim's son. They want help him get to college.

The town of Sullivan is remembering Sheri Randall. She was stabbed to death at her apartment in March by Michael Yost, her on again off again boyfriend.

Randall's friends wanted to have an event to raise money for her 8-year old son. Today they're holding silent auctions, raffles and live music at the VFW hall. The event runs past midnight.

Nicki Bassett says "it was all on donations we went everywhere from the Forsyth area, Springfield, Mattoon, Charleston, here in town, and we've had a bunch of cash donations."

The proceeds will go to a college fund for Randall's son. If you weren't able to make it today you can send donations to the first national bank in Sullivan
