The Illini 4000 are biking to raise money for cancer research. They hit their 1000 mile mark today before arriving on campus.
Along the way they talk to people who have been affected by cancer and they share their stories. The group says that even on the toughest days they have inspiration to keep them going.
"Every morning we do a ride dedication. So we ride for someone who is either a survivor or passed away or something along those lines. So when you're having a hard day you kind of stop and you think about that person and think about every thing that's happening and work through it."
The group has a goal of $150,000. The donations come from family, friends and people they meet along the way. So far it's raised $115,000.
