City leader breaking barriers

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) -- One city's vice mayor made history Tuesday night.

The mayor wasn't at this week's city council meeting, so his second in command, Brenda Brown, lead the charge. When she did, she became the first ever black woman to lead a Danville city council meeting.

She says she hopes she can inspire others to follow in her footsteps.
