Rod Blagojevich left his house in Chicago around 6:30 this morning to head for Colorado.
He boarded the plane alone. His family is not traveling with him.
He will be arriving at the prison around 10:00 this morning.
Tomorrow, former Governor Rod Blagojevich will begin his 14-year prison sentence. But, tonight, he took some time to speak to the media and the people of Illinois.
Blagojevich held a press conference on the front yard of his Chicago home. He began by thanking his supporters.
Throughout the speech, he expressed his innocence and said he would stay strong in the future knowing he had "done right" by the people of Illinois. Blagojevich was found guilty of corruption charges in December. He'll serve out his sentence at a prison in Colorado.
WCIA's Steve Staeger is there with an update on what's in store for the former governor.
