SPRINGFIELD -- The chairman of the board for a Chicago rail line is stepping down amid a political investigation. Brad O'Halloran announced his resignation this week. He was head of the Metra board which handed the former CEO a six-figure severance package.

That CEO claims he was asked to leave because he didn't grant a political favor to House Speaker Mike Madigan. Madigan asked the state's Executive Ethics Commission to investigate the claim.
