Body recovered

HILLERY, Ill. (WCIA) -- Authorities have recovered a body from a pond.

A woman reported her fiance, 71-year old Robert Porter, Jr., didn't surface after they and a 2-year old baby fell into the water when their boat capsized. It happened about 10 am, Wednesday, at a private pond near Polk and Blackford streets.

Officials say the woman reported being out on the boat when the motor failed. Porter stood up to fix the motor, causing the boat to capsize. The woman and baby safely got out of the water.

Authorities will investigate the cause of death. The sheriff's dive team spent about ten hours Wednesday and all day Thursday searching the murky water for Porter's body. It was recovered about 2:30 pm, in 30-feet of water.
