CHAMPAIGN -- Workers at an area hotel had a scare Thursday. Just before 1 pm, a man called the Hilton Garden Inn on Neil Street. He said a bomb had been placed in the hotel and he was demanding money.

Police and a bomb-sniffing dog searched the building and areas around it. Nothing was found. Operations at the hotel are back to normal.
