Campus police investigate armed robberies

CHAMPAIGN -- University police are investigating two cases of armed robbery from the weekend. The first incident happened in the 300-block of East Clark Street.

Authorities say the suspect pointed a small, silver, "rusty" handgun at the victims while they were walking. The suspect then stole personal property from them.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5'6", and approximately 17-years old. He is also described having a thin build and a slight goatee and was wearing a burgundy ball cap.

The second robbery happened Saturday morning in the 100-block of South Fourth Street. Police say the suspect approached the victim with a small, silver gun and tried to rob the victim. The suspect then rode away on a red bicycle and was last seen going north.

The second suspect is described as a black male, about 5'09", and approximately 20-years old. He also has scruffy facial hair.
