MONTICELLO -- As school quickly comes to an end and summer approaches, kids are getting anxious to play outside. But first, they have to learn how to play safely.

Carle Hospital held its 9th Annual Progressive Ag Safety Day. More than 200 students from schools around Central Illinois came to Allerton Park.

They took part in nine different safety stations. Topics involved more than agriculture. They included sun safety to food safety to tractor safety.

This was just the first of three events being held this Spring.  There will be another in Gibson City on 5/3 and one in Georgetown on 5/14.  All three days will total helping about 700 kids.
