URBANA -- The Champaign County Courthouse is getting some work done, but it comes at a price. The new part of the building was done just over ten years ago, but last night the county board voted to spend $300,000 on brick work.

A few board members voted "no," saying some parts were repaired a few years ago and should still be under warranty. Others say being proactive about maintenance is necessary.

Stan James, chair of the County Facilities Committee, says, in the past the county hasn't put funds aside for maintenance. Now, it's putting together a program to do upkeep as needed with those funds.
