PEORIA -- A local business is about to be the star of its own home building and design show. The DIY Network has picked up the series which is being filmed right here in the heart of Illinois. Alexandra Sutter takes a look at how the Herman Brothers are gaining national attention.

"How would I summarize what I do? We work on recreational properties in Fulton County, Knox County and Peoria County."

They build water-slides, docks, lakes; you name it. But their latest project is what's really putting them in the spotlight.

"So, what we've built is a floating island with a man-cave on it. I have not done anything this unique ever."

Mike Stafford is the director and co-executive producer of the Herman Brothers' show, All Hooked Up. He and his New York City-based crew have set up shop in Central Illinois documenting their work.

"It's just an interesting story whether they're building something, going to church or fishing together. It's a great thing to watch."

The Herman Brothers hammered out every detail of this more than $100,000 creation.

"Standing on a glass floor. This is pretty neat feature right here."

A two-story, solar-powered, volcano-themed oasis for its new owners if they want to get away.

"Even if it's a volcano that you're looking at here, there's elements of this build that you can watch at home and incorporate some fun things into a project you're doing."

But, this is just the beginning.

"Never in my wildest dreams or imagination could I ever figure we'd be making a TV show."

They say they're excited to share their work and their family, not only with Central Illinois, but with the world.

"We're excited. We're excited about the national exposure."
