DANVILLE -- New charges are on the way for a man accused of shooting three people. The victims were shot while sitting on their front porch on Kentucky Street, in June. One of them last week. Malachi Hatcher is accused of pulling the trigger. WCIA-3's Anthony Antoine speaks with the victim's family.

Hatcher could spend the rest of his life in prison. The family of Cecil Mullins says it's not long enough.

June 20th, Cecil Mullins sat alongside his niece, Janet Mullins, and her 16-year old son, Jadavious. But, only two of them are here today.

"He was just sitting on the porch minding his business."

The family says they saw a man hiding behind the tree across the street. They called police, but before police arrived...

"I just heard shooting."

Janet and her son were both shot in their legs.

"Where we live at is dangerous out here, so it really wasn't nothing new."

A sad reality for a teenager. His Uncle Cecil was shot in the stomach. His daughter came from Indianapolis to be with him.

"He made our world go round for everybody. There was nothing he wouldn't do for none of us."

The family says the bullet pierced his kidney, liver and gallbladder, but doctors told them he needed help breathing. But, he took a turn for the worse.

Police arrested 17-year old Malachi Hatcher days after the shooting. With Mullins recent passing, prosecutors will charge Hatcher with first degree murder.

"My family ain't got no justice just because they got the dude that shot him, or claimed that shot him. Ain't no justice. It's just us."

But, this isn't the first time the family has felt this pain. 17-year old Deryon Mullins was shot and killed three years ago.

"There was a party and all I can remember the man that shot him said, 'Don't run,' and he ran. When he ran, he shot him in the back."

The family has a lot of pain and resentment, but they say they will learn to cope.

"I'm glad that her and my cousin made it, but I can't question God and ask why my Daddy didn't."

Police found Hatcher in Chicago. His trial starts August 25.
