FLATVILLE -- School starts Monday for students in storm-ravaged Gifford. Until then, parents will continue struggling to clean up and watch their kids. One church is providing a place for those children to go in the meantime.

There is still tons of clean up work to do in town, but Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Flatville, is providing free daycare. It's only about five minutes away from Gifford, making things convenient for parents, but now they can focus their energies on the work ahead.

More than 25 kids showed up Wednesday. They watched movies, made banana bread and played with Legos. Teachers say it was a great way to try to make things normal for the kids.

Although there were tons of smiles and laughter, the kids are still talking about the tornado they will never forget. Teachers from Gifford are running the daycare.

The church will provide the service for the next two days. Most kids will return to school Monday.
