CHAMPAIGN -- Now that Halloween is over, why not get started on Christmas? Some are getting into the holiday spirit a little early this year.

People at Windsor Road Christian Church packed gift boxes to send overseas. It's the seventh year the church has been involved in Operation Christmas Child.

The boxes are filled with things for kids; everything from school supplies to Beanie Babies are inside.

"It's very important to send these small boxes. They're tokens to us, but sometimes they can impact a person's life and change their destiny. And, for some of these children, it's the first time they have anything, any toys or things like that, so it really is a wonderful thing," says Carl Wegel, Elder at Windsor Road Christian Church.

Last year the church packed over 900 boxes.
