URBANA -- City officials are looking at swapping street parking for bike lanes. They want to get rid of on-street parking along the west side of Kinch Street from Washington to Florida.

Money for the nearly $200,000 project would come from a state grant. The idea is to slow traffic and encourage kids to bike to school.

But some neighbors say they need on-street parking. The neighborhood has no lights and they say it can be dangerous on nearby streets.

Some say speeding has always been an issue on Kinch. They don't think adding bike lanes will help.
