URBANA -- A city leader says he supports the police chief's proposal to get tasers. Tom Costello is the chairman of the city's Civilian Police Review Board. He says he's talked with Chief Pat Connolly about tasers before, but understands why the department is bringing it up again.

If the city council approves the plan, members of the review board would help make policy for using them. They would also watch videos created each time a taser is deployed.
