SPRINGFIELD -- Some families visited the Illinois State Museum this Independence Day to relive some of America's history on the national holiday. The museum is featuring patriotic, wartime quilts, hand-sewn in Illinois during the Civil War.

They're part of the Loyal Hearts of Illinois display. Some of the cloths show scenes of the divided nation and political stances at that time. The quilts and other historic items will be on exhibit through September 8.
