URBANA -- One man faces multiple charges after police say they found weapons and marijuana on his property. 52-year old Mark Cruz was charged with class 1- and 2-felonies for possession with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of weapons by a felon.

Someone subletting from Cruz found weapons and ammunition on his property in the 1000-block of South Cottage Grove. Authorities recovered 3-long guns and a significant amount of ammunition stolen from another residence in 2011. Cruz does not have a valid FOID card and was convicted of two felony DUI's and cocaine possession.

Authorities conducted surveillance at Cruz's primary residence in the 1400-block of South Cottage Grove. He and his roommate were stopped for a traffic violation. Investigators found eight half-pound bags of marijuana and $29,000 cash in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the home turned up another $2,500 cash and 1.5 pounds of marijuana.

Cruz's bond is set at $400,000. His roommate, Charles Christakis, was also arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis. His bond is set at $5,000.
