Counterfeit cash floating to area businesses

CHARLESTON, Ill. (WCIA) -- Police arrest a man for passing counterfeit cash.

On Sunday,12/31/17, at approximately 10:41 p.m. officers from the Charleston Police Department responded to a report of a subject passing a counterfeit 100 dollar bill.

 

An investigation into this report led to the arrest of the suspect, James D. Donaldson, 24 of Charleston.

 

Donaldson attempted to pay a delivery driver using a 100 dollar bill with the words "For Motion Picture Use Only" displayed on the front and back of the bill.

 

Donaldson was arrested for Forgery and placed in the Coles County Safety and Detention Center pending bond.
