SPRINGFIELD -- The Illinois Supreme Court's Chief Justice is reminding judges to report any cases of mental illness. Justice Thomas Kilbride sent a letter to lower courts saying it's important they tell state police when they rule someone has a mental health issue and can't get a FOID card.

Reports found many courts failed to turn in the right documents the past few years. Currently, only 39-counties actually do it.
