CHAMPAIGN-URBANA -- CU's Mass Transit District wants more money. The board approved a tax levy increase of about $329,000 from property owners.

The MTD says it's to cover the increased costs of staffing and expanded services. They say ridership is up about 11.5%. This proposal would increase its budget by about 5%.
