Cunningham needs new director

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) -- The Cunningham Children's Home is looking for someone to fill big shoes left behind by the departing director.

Cindy Baumann, director of residential services, resigned this week. She leaves after serving in that role for 14-years. She was in charge of kids living on campus.

Those children suffer from serious emotional or behavioral challenges which could stem from abuse, neglect or mental health issues.

The CEO says Baumann resigned with positive marks from the home.

To fill her position, they're looking for someone who's dealt with kids who've experienced trauma. They say they have plenty of time to find Baumann's replacement.

Until then, they say they'll continue providing the best care for kids. The home's license was just renewed with the Department of Children and Family Services. It serves about 460 kids.

An online application is available for the position. Cunningham is also looking for volunteers to wrap Christmas presents.
