CHAMPAIGN -- Jefferson Middle School is right on target when it comes to archery. The team is being called a "national powerhouse." That's why Mayor Don Gerard named Tuesday in the team's honor.

It was undefeated this season and set a record for the highest score by a middle school team. Members proudly accepted the honor at Tuesday's city council meeting. The team heads to Madison, Wisconsin, in July for a world competition.
