DCFS reaches milestone

ILLINOIS -- A department known for protecting kids throughout the state is celebrating a milestone. Tuesday, Illinois Department of Children and Family Services turned 50 years old.

During that time, thousands of children were reunited with families and others found forever homes. DCFS also works to stop child abuse. It helps about 15,000 children each year and works with about 60,000 families.
