Dead dog causes uproar

LUDLOW, Ill. (WCIA) -- A dog on the loose for weeks has been euthanized.

A town meeting was scheduled to let people weigh in on the runaway dog. People were concerned weeks ago.

Just last week, Champaign County Animal Control finally got a hold of the dog. When he was first captured, it was timid and scared, but that changed.

Officials say the dog was too aggressive to put with humans and made him unadoptable. Animal control was worried he might bite someone because of his behavior.

There are several ways to determine a dog's demeanor. Touch a dog and see how it reacts. Pick up its paws, give it some food or give it a fetch toy. Generally, any dog who fails these tests or bites, is automatically deemed unadoptable.
