DECATUR -- The Macon County Sheriff's Department is just starting to use a new vehicle in its fleet. An anonymous donor gave the department a $20,000 Harley
Davidson motorcycle in 2012. The
department spent the past year getting it outfitted with police equipment and
training an officer how to ride it.
The department says it will be a useful asset because people may feel more comfortable approaching an officer on a motorcycle. It makes Macon one of the only area sheriff's departments with a motorcycle.
