DOUGLAS COUNTY -- A sheriff's deputy was hurt after his squad car rolled during a high-speed pursuit. It happened about 2:40 am, Sunday.

The sheriff's office was called to assist the Villa Grove Police Department with the pursuit of a red, 1995 Pontiac (possibly Grand Prix), 4-door vehicle, with license plate P 812 551. The chase was westbound from Villa Grove on County Road 1450 North.

Authorities say speeds exceeded 110 miles per hour. After losing the suspect vehicle for a short time, the pursuit resumed about five miles north then west of the Douglas-Champaign counties line.

The suspect vehicle was not stopped and the driver is still being sought for aggravated fleeing, eluding and leaving the scene of a personal injury crash.
