CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- Parents are demanding answers after a crop duster sprayed their children. It happened more than a week ago in a field near Pesotum along County Road 1100 East.

More than 70 teens were detasseling corn when a plane accidentally sprayed them with fungicide. All of them had to be hosed down and taken to the hospital.

The incident happened July 25. The Illinois Department of Agriculture isn't saying who contracted the plane to fly that day. Monsanto, the company which hired the detasselers, says the pilot was spraying for a nearby farmer.

But Department of Agriculture officials won't comment until the investigation is over. Officials say they're still interviewing witnesses.
