Disaster Relief just shy of $15G!

CHAMPAIGN -- People all over Central Illinois showed just how big their hearts are, donating thousands in a matter of hours Tuesday. It was at the WCIA-3 News/Red Cross Disaster Relief Drive.

You donated $14,650 for the Red Cross. Dozens drove up and dropped off cash and checks. Volunteers collected for 12 hours. One says it was unlike anything she's ever seen.

"I've never seen something like this. Champaign just has the biggest heart. I've worked at Red Crosses all over the country and this was just a huge event. We were just so happy with WCIA and all the people that came out," branch manager Kelly Formoso said.

The money donated will go toward comfort kits, providing victims with blankets, pillows and cots.
