CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District is urging you to save a life. Organizations met there Monday to raise awareness for National Minority Donor Awareness Week. They're urging people to sign up for the organ and tissue registry. There's an especially strong need for minority donors.

Minorities make up 57% of donations needed. One mom says her son is able to live through others thanks to his donations. Bone marrow is also needed. It can be used to cure diseases such as sickle cell anemia and leukemia. Anyone 18 - 44 years old can join the marrow registry.
