Driver found unresponsive; pronounced dead

VERMILION COUNTY -- Coroner Peggy Johnson says preliminary tests show a man found unresponsive in his truck died from a massive heart attack. 51-year old Michael Kronkow, of Taylorville, was pronounced dead at the hospital after being found in his semi on the shoulder of I-74.

It happened near Oakwood about 4:30 am. Kronkow's death is still under investigation. Toxicology testing is also pending.

VERMILION COUNTY -- An autopsy will be conducted today on a Taylorville man found in his truck this morning. He was discovered about 4:30 am on I-74 in Vermilion County.

Police say the driver was headed west when his semi left the road. It drove up the embankment and back down until it stopped in a grassy area north of the roadway. The driver was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the hospital.
