CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- Polls for Tuesday's primary elections are closing shortly. Champaign County is typically one of the busier areas to vote in.

But this year, things are slightly different. The county clerk says an increase in absentee and early voting is the reason. Over the past decade, there has been a dip in voting later in the day.

Many places see a lot of their voting in the morning, like Clark Lindsey, in Urbana. It needed extra booths delivered because of turnout. It was a pleasant surprise for the county.

What shouldn't be a surprise is how long it takes to calculate the vote. About 20,000 - 25,000 voters are expected to cast ballots.
