UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- The UI is honoring late film critic Roger Ebert. He's being recognized with the 2014 Illinois Prize for Lifetime Achievement in journalism.

Ebert died last year. His wife, Chaz, will accept the award for him next month.

He's the first UI graduate to get it. He founded Ebertfest which is held every year in Champaign. This year, it will screen a new documentary on Ebert's life which premiered last week at the Sundance Film Festival.
