SAVOY -- Wearing a coat is probably the last thing on your mind these days, but sooner or later, the weather is going to get cold. Some kids won't have jackets to stay warm.

The Elk's Lodge hopes to keep that from happening. Friday started its Annual Coat Drive. Members braved warm temperatures to make sure kids keep warm this winter. They stood on Neil Street near the Elks Lodge throughout the day.

They'll do the same thing next Friday. They're collecting slightly-used coats for kids of all ages, but particularly kindergarten - 7th. In November, they'll pass them out to kids who need them.

Last year, they collected about 200 coats, so they hope for even more this year. If you can't stop by before 6 pm, they're collecting all month long at the lodge. You can stop by Tuesday through Sunday. They're also taking monetary donations.
