ILLINOIS -- The cold which swept through the state last week, came with a hefty price tag. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency claims the cold blast cost the state some $14-million.

That amount covers IDOT's equipment, road salt and labor, plus overtime for state police officers and National Guard members who were called in to rescue stranded drivers.
