DECATUR -- City leaders want to make sure people have plenty of water. Council members voted Monday to build four emergency wells.

They're expected to produce between 1 - 2 million gallons of water daily. Two will discharge into Lake Decatur while the other two will go into the city's water mine.

The cost will be about $1.5 million. Officials say Lake Decatur is still nearly two feet below normal.
