CHAMPAIGN -- It's a relationship some say can change lives and Wednesday, students say 'thank you' to their mentors. It's the end-of-the-year banquet for C-U One to One mentor and mentees.

The program gives hundreds of kids someone to count on seeing every week. Central High School senior Malaysia Wicks has been in the program since 5th grade.

"I wouldn't be where I am today without my mentor. Part of me and who I am is because of my mentor. She made me into the person I am, along with my dad and mom, and I thank her for that everyday," says Wicks.

34 seniors are graduating from the program. Students staying in the program through graduation get a $5,000 scholarship.
