CHAMPAIGN -- For weeks, farmers have been playing the waiting game, but thanks to some nice weather, that wait is over. Many began planting their crops for the season.

Up until a couple of days ago, the grounds were still frozen, but warmer temperatures and the lack of heavy rainfall, has helped dry fields making the ground more accessible for machinery.

There is still time to plant, but now farmers may need to plant a little quicker. Once the corn crop is planted, most farmers will begin planting soy in the early part of May.
