SPRINGFIELD -- The state's National Guard headquarters is getting some security upgrades. Almost $1-million in federal grant money will go to replace fences around the perimeter.

Some parts haven't been touched in more than 30-years. Now there are weak spots. Officials say it's too important to let it sit any longer.

The money will also be used to build a new parking lot for military vehicles. They have extra since the U.S. has been at war.
