URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) -- Tuesday morning, FBI agents arrested four men from rural Central Illinois on a criminal complaint charging all of them with possession of a machine gun.
Michael Hari, 47, Joe Morris, 22, Michael McWhorter, 29, and Ellis Mack, 18, all of Clarence, are accused of being in possession of assault rifles from October 2017 - March 2018.
Authorities say evidence shows Hari, Morris and McWhorter bombed a mosque, in Bloomington, Minnesota, on August 5, 2017 and attempted to bomb the Women's Health Practice, in Champaign, on November 7, 2017.
Tuesday, search warrants were executed at Hari's parents' home, in Paxton; a store/office owned by Hari, at 100 South Main Road, in Clarence. Clarence is about 35 miles north of Champaign-Urbana.
Hari was arrested Tuesday morning while traveling to a court appearance in Ford County, for a hearing in an assault case. Hari and Morris made initial appearances in federal court Tuesday afternoon.
Court dates for McWhorter and Mack have not yet been determined.
