DANVILLE -- Sewer and waste bills could be going up, but it might save jobs. Mayor Scott Eisenhauer is proposing a Fire Safety Fee.

Each home and business will pay $8/month for city sewer lines. The tax will raise more than $1 million.

The mayor says it will mean firefighter jobs won't have to be cut nor stations closed. The money will pay for firefighter salaries, equipment and training.
